At Arya Eye Clinic, we offer comprehensive eye exams using cutting-edge technology to patients of all ages. Many serious eye diseases do not have obvious symptoms, and some eye diseases only begin to show symptoms when the condition is advanced and difficult or even impossible to treat. Having regular eye exams is important not only to check your vision but also to screen for early signs of potentially serious eye-related conditions and other diseases such as diabetes.
The complete eye exam typically includes several tests and procedures to examine and evaluate eyes health and vision quality. These tests range from reading an eye chart to having the tissue inside of your eye closely examined with a high-magnification lens.
According to the Canadian Association of Optometrists, school-age children should have yearly eye exams after starting school. In addition, adults aged 19-64 should have an eye exam at least every two years, and individuals with diabetes should have an exam at least once a year. Adults aged 65 years and older should have an eye exam at least once a year.
